Lucienne Burns

Hi everyone, my name is Lucie and I am looking forward to being the Editor in Chief for the ASP this year! I am currently a junior majoring in journalism and in political science. I began writing for the ASP in fall of 2024 when I transferred to UAlbany. At my previous school I discovered my interest in newswriting and editing, so it only made sense that I got involved in the club here. Outside of the ASP, I like to listen to music, go on walks, and spend time with my friends.

Hi! I'm Mila, and I'm a senior majoring in journalism with a minor in sociology. I have been working for the ASP since fall of 2024 and previously served as a staff writer and a copy editor before becoming the News Editor. I'm from Oita, Japan, and I speak Japanese and intermediate Korean. My writing interests are community news, immigration, East Asian culture and mental health. In my free time, I watch K-dramas, read novels and go to restaurants and bars. Hey, my name is Sofia and I’m from Brooklyn, NY. I am a sophomore at the University at Albany, majoring in Political Science. I have been writing for the student press under my own column “Threads and Tales by Sofia” since my freshman year.
Outside of writing for the ASP, I enjoy going to the gym, playing basketball, baking, making clothes, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Hello, Everyone my name is Carter Schum and am a Sophomore at UAlbany majoring in Political Science with minors in International Studies and Communications. I have been writing for ASP since my first semester of Freshman Year.
I love to cover all things UAlbany sports and am passionate about following all of our teams all year round. I also have an interest in sports history and am always open for a conversation.
Some of my hobbies include video games, going on walks and learning languages!

Hi, my name is Sophia Arredondo and I am a junior majoring in journalism with minors in communications and psychology. I have been writing for the ASP since my freshman year and am excited to take on this new role as social media manager.
Outside of the ASP, I enjoy reading, doing yoga or pilates and spending time with friends and family.

Hi, my name is Tori Wilson! I’m a communications major, minoring in journalism and creative writing. I’m excited to join the ASP staff as a copy editor this year.
