Thursday, October 1
Women's Soccer fell by a score of 6-0 to the Binghamton Bearcats. Oluchi Njoku led the Great Danes in shots with two. Maddie Eddy, Kiara Levac and Mariella Fulcher all recorded one shot each. The Bearcats tallied 36 total shots. Claudia Volino made nine saves in net.
Friday, October 2
Volleyball topped the NJIT Highlanders 3-1. Campbell Robinson and Pinar Erol tied for the team lead in kills with 16 each. Mina Benucci was not far behind with nine. Nina Gibson had six kills. Addy Bianchini also had six kills and added 39 assists. Kiki Provatas and Madison Kyle each had two service aces.
Field Hockey dropped a 3-1 decision to the Maine Blackbears. Quinty Ruemer scored the lone Great Dane goal in the fourth quarter. Jette Kurz and Mara Kuskes each were credited with assists on the goal. Lillian Willis had two shots. Merle Vaandrager made two saves in net.
Saturday, October 3
Football defeated the Delaware State Hornets 28-3. Kai Colon was 8-12 passing for 64 yards. Aiden Semo was 3-4 passing with two touchdowns. Rahshan La Mons had 46 rushing yards, and both a rushing and receiving touchdown. Joey Koch had 83 yards rushing and a touchdown. Dillon Dunnathan had 11 total tackles and a sack. Shawan Lewis had an interception.
Men’s Soccer stayed perfect in conference play with a 1-0 win over the UMass Lowell Riverhawks. Yuta Kimata scored the only goal of the game in the second half. Kyle Bernardo led UAlbany in shots with four. Rodrigo Hermelo recorded 2 shots. UAlbany outshot UML 15-5. Alexander Genz made two saves in net.
Sunday, October 4
Women's Soccer was bested 5-0 by the UMBC Retrievers. Kiara Levac led in shots with four. Sydney Kofton and Mariella Fulcher each had two shots. Nine different players recorded shots for UAlbany. Claudia Volino made one save.
Golf finished in seventh place at the Yale Invitational. Callie Taylor was the highest finishing Great Dane, finishing tied for 15th place and +11. Mia Cepeda tied for 26th place at +16. Jessica Brown finished tied for 35th place at +19. Madison Kuratani was tied for 42nd and +19 overall, Sydney Fuke was the other Great Dane to finish in the top 50, coming home in 48th and +29.
Rowing competed at the Head of the Riverfront in Connecticut. In the Women's Collegiate 8+, the UAlbany A boat finished in 6th, the B boat finished in 11th while the C and D boats were in 22nd and 23rd place, respectively. In the Women’s Novice 8+, UAlbany finished in second place. The Women’s open novice 4+ came home in first place. The Women’s Open 2+ was sixth. And in the Women’s Collegiate 4+ the A boat came in 6th, the B boat was 10th, and the C boat was in 23rd.
Volleyball was swept 3-0 by the New Hampshire Wildcats. Pinar Erol once again led the team in kills, finishing with 16. Campbell Robinson and Mina Benucci each had seven kills. Lilly Lott had 4 kills and Nia Gibson had 3. Addy Bianchini had 22 assists.
Field Hockey defeated the Hofstra Pride 3-2 in overtime. Quinty Reumer scored two goals and Mathilda Prada scored the game winning goal. The Pride outshot the Great Danes 18-16 in total. Merle Vaandrager made four saves in net to get the win.
