On Tuesday, Feb. 26, UAlbany students gathered around the Campus Center
fountain at 2:00 p.m. Equipped with picket signs, whistles, and a passion for justice, the demonstration, led by UAlbany College Democrats, UAlbany Students for Justice in Palestine, among others, was organized with the goal of establishing a sanctuary campus.
“ICE has plagued the Capital Region and the University at Albany has done nothing to protect its student body,” read an Instagram post by @ualbanydems.
The demonstration saw speeches and chants at the Small Fountain from 2:00-2:45 p.m., followed by a march to University Hall, and the crowd dispersed at 3:00 p.m.
