He learned this early in Amherst, Massachusetts, watching his father navigate the local university community; an experience that taught him athletics carries a unique power to unite people. Today, that belief shapes every part of how he coaches his athletes at UAlbany. Through summer camps and youth development projects throughout the Capital Region, Killings pushes his players to understand their true impact off the court. Within the program, achievement on the court means little if players don't also step forward as inspiring community figures.
