This past week saw the following results for University at Albany sports:

Jordan Shullenberger (#14) recorded his first collegiate goal on Friday(10/17) in a conference win for Men’s Soccer.

Tuesday, October 14
Volleyball earned a road victory as they defeated the Colgate Raiders 3-1. Shynelle Woroniuk led the way with 21 kills and 11 digs. Gabriella Karman tallied 11 kills, 4 blocks, and 3 aces. Maria Olga Siapani dished out an impressive 46 assists.
Thursday, October 16th
Women’s soccer dropped a conference game 3-0 to the Binghamton Bearcats. Binghamton Outshot UAlbany 23-1. The lone Great Dane shot was taken by Meredith Blannett. The Bearcats bested the Great Danes in corners 5-1, and fouls 5-3. In net, Claudia Volino made 5 saves.
Friday, October 17th
The Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams competed in the ECAC/IC4A championships at Van Cortlandt Park in New York City. The Women's team finished with 661 points, good for 22nd place out of 25 competitors. The scoring gap for the women was 3:15.0. The men finished with 544 points and placed 19th out of 22 teams. The scoring gap for the men was 1.10.2.
Field Hockey dropped a dramatic 1-0 decision to the Vermont Catamounts in double overtime. The Catamounts outshot the Great Danes 16-8. Mara Küskes led all Great Danes with 3 shots. In net, Emma Peeters tallied 10 saves.
Men’s Soccer bested the UMBC retrievers 2-0. Jordan Shullenberger recorded his first collegiate goal, and Andre Navas also found the back of the net. UAlbany outshot UMBC 9-6. Andrej Krivokapic made 3 saves and picked up a clean sheet.
Saturday, October 18th
Volleyball defeated the UMBC Retrievers 3-1. Kendall Harris tallied 11 kills, 7 digs and 3 blocks. Shynelle Woroniuk notched 15 kills, 15 digs and 1 ace. Maria Olga Siapani recorded an impressive 36 assists.
Football fell to Rhode Island 58-17. Jack Shields finished 12-26 for 192 yards with a touchdown and 2 interceptions. Quarterback Aiden Semo recorded a rushing touchdown. Running back Griffin Woodell had 112 all purpose yards and averaged 12.4 yards a carry. Denzel Patrick recorded 11 total tackles on defense. Dillon Dunathan tallied 10 total tackles and a sack.
Sunday, October 12th
Field Hockey fell to the Yale Bulldogs 2-1 in a tight match. Tessa Overgoor scored the lone Great Dane goal. Yale narrowly outshot UAlbany 15-14, however the Great Danes led in shots on goal 10-9. In net, Emma Peeters recorded 6 saves.
Women’s Rowing competed at the Head of the Charles. The Club 8+ team finished 32nd place in their race with a time of 17:26.385. The Lightweight 4+ squad came home in 13th place with a time of 20:16.429
