This past week saw the following results for University at Albany sports:

Volleyball fell to the UMBC Retrievers in the America East championship match on Saturday (11/22).

Tuesday, November 18th
Men’s Basketball defeated the Paul Smiths Bobcats by a score of 106-57. Nasir Muhamed led the way for UAlbany with 21 points. Okechukwu Okeke recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. A total of 5 Great Danes scored in double figures.
Wednesday, November 19th
Women’s Basketball reclaimed the Albany Cup as they defeated the Siena Saints 67-42. Martina Borrellas recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Amaya Stewart recorded a team high in points with 17. Lara Langermann notched a career high in points with 14.
Friday, November 14th
Volleyball defeated the Bryant Bulldogs 3-0 in the America East semi-finals. Shynelle Woroniuk tallied 10 kills, 7 digs, and 1 block. Gabriella Karman had 9 kills and 4 blocks. Tori Wilson recorded 10 kills and 2 blocks. Maria Olga Siapani 30 assists and also notched 10 digs.
Men’s Basketball fell to the Siena Saints 73-63 in the annual Albany Cup game. Amir Lindsey recorded 23 points and 4 assists while playing all 40 minutes. Okechukwu Okeke and Zacharie Matulu each recorded 11 points.
Saturday, November 15th
Football ended their season on a high note by besting the Monmouth Hawks 31-24. Jack Shields finished 18-25 passing for 161 yards and 3 touchdowns. Lasale Rose Jr. caught 2 touchdown passes. Aiden Semo rushed for another touchdown to extend his streak of rushing scores to 6. Griffin Woodell rushed for 57 total yards. On defense, Chris Gales led the way with 12 total tackles and a sack. The Great Danes finish the year 2-10 overall and 1-7 in CAA play.
Women’s Basketball defeated the Saint Bonaventure Bonnies 62-53. Delanie Hill led the way for the Great Danes with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Amaya Stewart recorded 14 points and a team high 7 rebounds. Martina Borellas tallied 8 points on 50% shooting.
Volleyball was bested 3-1 by the UMBC Retrievers in the America East championship match. Shynelle Woroniuk recorded an amazing 24 kills, more than double the amount of kills than other Great Dane. Tori Willson and Kendall Haris each had 9 kills. Anna Myhal led in digs with 15. Maria Olga Siapani dished out 50 total assists.
