This past week saw the following results for University at Albany sports:

The UAlbany women’s soccer team celebrated senior day Sunday afternoon (9/21).

Tuesday, September 16
Men's Soccer was defeated on the road by the Colgate Raiders 1-0. Goalkeeper Andrej Krivokapic recorded three saves in the loss. Alexander Clive tallied 2 shots. The Great Danes committed 8 fouls while the Raiders recorded 7. UAlbany held a narrow 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Friday, September 19
Field Hockey defeated the Holy Cross Crusaders 4-3. Pilar Lorenzini and Mara Küskes each scored twice in the victory. Olivia Bell and Indy van Ek both tallied assists. Goalkeeper Emma Peeters stopped nine shots to record her 5th victory of the season.
Volleyball went 0-2 in their first day at the Red Raider Invitational hosted by Texas Tech.
First, The Great Danes were defeated by the Host Red Raiders 3-1. Shynelle Woroniuk tallied 16 kills, while Brooke Malek had 22 digs.
In game 2, The Great Danes fell to the Incarnate Word Cardinals 3-0. Elif Yasar had 13 assists , Kasia Barletta recorded 11 digs and Shynelle Woroniuk had 13 kills to lead UAlbany.
Saturday, September 20:
Volleyball dropped a close match to the Ole Miss Rebels 3-1. Shynelle Woroniuk recorded 22 kills, while Brooke Malek led the Great Danes with 28 digs. Maria Olga Siapani continued her amazing season with 42 assists.
Men’s Soccer was defeated 2-0 by the Princeton Tigers. Princeton out shot UAlbany 15-9 in total and 5-2 in shots on goal. Brennan McDermot and Roko Branko Mrvelj each had one shot apiece. In net, Kodai Tsuzuki recorded three saves
Football earned their first win of the season as they defeated the Cornell Big Red 13-10. Jojo Uga was the star of the show for the Great Danes as he tallied 126 total yards and a 43 yard touchdown run in the 4th quarter that would prove to be the deciding score. Both Jack Shield and Colin Parachek took snaps at Quarterback for Ualbany. Shields finished 7-19 with 70 yards and an interception. Paracheck went 6-11 for 45 yards in the air, while adding 17 yards on the ground. Cam Stodghill led all Great Danes with 13 total tackles. Jayden Estes sealed the victory with an interception with 1:23 remaining in the game.
Sunday, September 21:
Field Hockey dropped a close game to UMass by a score of 2-1. Lillian Willis scored the only goal of the game for the Great Danes, her first of her career. The Minutewomen trounced the Great Danes in shots 20-8. Emma Peeters stood on her head in net, making 13 total saves.
Women’s Soccer was narrowly defeated 1-0 by the Maine Blackbears in their America East conference opener. Claudia Volino recorded 8 saves in the game. 4 different Great Danes recorded shots. In total, the Blackbears outshot. The Great Danes by a tally of 21-4.
