This past week saw the following results for University at Albany sports:

Thursday, January 29th

Men’s Basketball fell to the NJIT Highlanders 77-68. Amir Lindsey topped the scoring charts with 23 points while playing all 40 minutes in the game. Abdoulaye Fall contributed 14 points. Okechukwu Okeke recorded a team high 8 rebounds. In total, the Great Danes notched 33 rebounds.  


Women’s Basketball picked up a 71-54 win over the NJIT Highlanders. Delanie Hill led the Great Danes in points with 22, while shooting 9-14 from the field. Martina Borellas added 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Gabriela Falcão dished out a team high of 10 assists. 


Saturday, January 31st 

Men’s Track & Field emerged victorious at the Cornell invite. The Great Danes finished with 155 points, beating out 5 other schools. UAlbany recorded 7 different 1st place finishes, and 17 top 3 finishes. 


Women’s Track & Field recorded a 2nd place finish at the Cornell invite out of 7 schools. Adaliz Hunt set the 2nd highest time in school history in the 60m dash. The Great Danes finished 1st in 4 different events, and top 3 in 13 events. 


Men’s Basketball dropped a close game to the UMBC Retrievers 68-65. Okecuckwu Okeke recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Issac Abidde tallied an even 20 points. Besieged by injuries, only 7 players participated in the game for UAlbany. 


Women’s Basketball fell in overtime 55-46 to the UMBC Retrievers. Martina Borellas led the way for the Great Danes with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Delanie Hill added 9 points. Gabriela Falcão and Amaya Stewart each grabbed 7 rebounds. UAlbany finished with 11 total assists.
